Removing a snippet

Ready to remove a snippet? It's easy!

Snippets are designed to be easily replaced with the content they contain. They remove content development from your workflow, and then they get out of your way!

Removing a snippet

To remove a snippet:

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Click on the snippet you'd like to delete.
  3. Copy the snippet's id.
  4. Find references to the snippet in your project using its id.
  5. Return to Jahuty and copy the snippet's content.
  6. Paste the snippet's content into your source code at each reference.
  7. Return to Jahuty and scroll down to the bottom of the page.
  8. Click the "Permanently delete" button.

Finding references

Before you delete your snippet from Jahuty, you should find references to the snippet in your application. This can be done with a project-wide search for the snippet's unique id.

Finding references is important! If you reference a snippet that doesn't exist, the API will respond with a 404 status code, and the SDK will throw an exception. Exceptions aren't ideal, but they're less worse than showing a blank page to your customers.

Replacing content

Once you've found references to the snippet in your application, you should copy the snippet's content from Jahuty and paste it into your source code.

Be sure to save your work! When you delete the snippet from Jahuty in the next step, its content will be permanently deleted, and we will not be able to recover it.
